Spequlo (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of our users (“you”, “your”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our mobile and web applications, services, and any related features (collectively, the “Services”). This policy also outlines your rights and choices regarding your information.
Information We Collect
We collect several types of information in connection with the Services:
1.1. Personal Information
Account Data: Name, email address, username, and password (if applicable).
Demographic Data: Gender, date of birth, height, weight, and body measurements (e.g., bust, waist, hips, inseam).
Profile Photos: Traditional profile images and full-body 2D images used for try-on experiences.
Location (optional): Used to suggest seasonally appropriate clothing or trends.
1.2. Uploaded & Generated Content
Body Images: Photos uploaded by users to simulate virtual try-ons.
Saved Try-Ons: Composite images created during try-ons, stored for reuse or sharing.
User Collections: Clothing groups saved by users to organize outfits.
User Avatars: 2D or 3D avatars, whether manually uploaded or AI-generated.
1.3. Behavioral Data
Likes/Dislikes: Feedback on clothing items from a Tinder-style carousel.
Try-On Logs: Records of clothing items tried, viewed duration, and outcomes.
Session Data: Time spent on app, scroll behavior, clicks, and interaction logs.
1.4. Clothing & Image Metadata
Garment Details: Image, color, tags, and AI-generated embeddings (used for style matching).
AI Tagging: Visual features extracted via CLIP or other AI models for recommendation accuracy.
1.5. Pinterest Integration
Pinterest Images: Displayed dynamically via Pinterest’s official API and CDN. Images are never stored or cached on our servers.
Interaction Data with Pinterest Content: Likes and dislikes, timestamps, and associated Pinterest image URLs (no image storage).
How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
2.1. Core Services
To enable you to upload and manage your profile and try-on images.
To provide virtual try-on functionality using your images and selected clothing items.
To create and manage saved outfits and collections.
To display curated clothing feeds and recommendations, including dynamically loaded Pinterest images.
2.2. Personalization and AI Training
To personalize style recommendations and match you with relevant clothing.
To improve our AI systems using aggregated interaction data (likes, try-ons, etc.).
To build fashion embeddings and style agents tailored to your behavior.
Note: AI training on user data is performed in aggregate and anonymized, unless explicit consent is obtained for advanced personalization experiments.
2.3. Security and Platform Integrity
To detect, prevent, and respond to security incidents or misuse of services.
To maintain the safety and stability of the app.
2.4. Analytics and Product Improvement
To monitor engagement, performance, and usage trends.
To run A/B tests and enhance features and user experience.
Sharing of Your Information
We do not sell your data. However, we may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
Service Providers: With cloud and storage providers (e.g., Supabase, Firebase) processing data under confidentiality agreements.
Legal Compliance: When required to comply with legal obligations, subpoenas, or government requests.
Business Transfers: In connection with mergers, acquisitions, or asset sales, users will be notified.
With Your Consent: Explicit authorization to share certain data (e.g., exporting your avatar for third-party platforms).
Pinterest Compliance
Pinterest images used in the Tinder-style carousel are dynamically fetched through Pinterest’s official API and served directly via Pinterest’s CDN. Spequlo does not store, cache, or locally save Pinterest images.
Clearly visible Pinterest attribution and links to original Pins are provided in-app.
Interaction data with Pinterest images (likes/dislikes) is collected without saving or caching images.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain user data only as long as necessary:
Profile & Body Images: Stored until deleted by the user or account deactivation.
Interaction Data: Retained in anonymized form for analytics or AI training.
Account Deletion: Complete data deletion upon request within 30 days.
Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights:
Access: Request copies of your stored data.
Correction: Update or correct personal details.
Deletion: Delete your account and associated data.
Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for AI training on your data.
Portability: Export your saved outfits, try-on history, or image data.
Data Security
We implement encryption, secure cloud storage (e.g., Supabase S3-compatible storage), access controls, and continuous monitoring. While we strive to protect your data, no system is 100% secure. We recommend strong passwords and credential confidentiality.
Children’s Privacy
Spequlo is not intended for users under the age of 13 (or minimum legal age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If discovered, such data is promptly deleted.
International Data Transfers
Spequlo, based in Canada, uses cloud services operating internationally (e.g., U.S., Europe). Using our services implies consent to international data transfers subject to differing privacy protections.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as needed. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notifications.
