Spequlo vs Antla

The Antla alternative that sells without a coupon

Antla and Spequlo are both single-photo AI try-on apps for Shopify fashion stores. Antla's model is built around sharing: after a try-on, the shopper posts the result and gets a discount. Spequlo is built around the purchase: a faster try-on, a size recommendation from the shopper's real measurements, and analytics that follow the shopper to the order, with no margin given away to make it work.

What do Antla and Spequlo have in common?

Both install from the Shopify App Store as a theme block, both generate a try-on from one shopper photo without 3D models or a photo shoot, and both integrate with Klaviyo. Both are aimed at independent and mid-size apparel brands rather than enterprise retailers. On the basics they are close.

Does the share-for-discount loop cost you margin?

Antla's signature feature turns try-ons into social posts by offering a coupon in exchange for sharing. That can generate reach. It also means the shoppers most likely to buy, the ones who bothered to try on, are the ones you hand a discount to.

Spequlo does not need a coupon to convert a try-on. The shopper sees the garment on their own body and gets told which size fits. Shoppers can still share a result; it is just not the business model.

Size chart integration versus size recommendation: what's the difference?

Antla integrates your size chart into the try-on flow, so the shopper can read it without leaving the widget. That is useful, but the shopper is still converting their own body into a letter on a chart.

Spequlo estimates the shopper's measurements from two guided photos and does the chart reading for them, per product. The result is a specific size with the reasoning shown, so the shopper can trust it or override it.

What can you see in the analytics?

Spequlo reports try-on rate, add-to-cart rate and conversion for shoppers who used the widget, per product and per category, through to the order. If knitwear is converting and outerwear is not, you see it, and you can act on the product page rather than the tool.

Where does Antla have the edge?

Antla carries Shopify's Built for Shopify badge and integrates with Attentive and Postscript as well as Klaviyo. If SMS marketing is central to your stack, that matters. Both widgets are English-only today.

Switching from Antla to Spequlo

Install Spequlo, enable the theme block, disable Antla's. Klaviyo flows keyed on Antla events need re-pointing to Spequlo's try-on and size-recommendation events; the Klaviyo guide in the dashboard walks through it. Size charts are matched automatically.

Questions, answered

Can shoppers still share their try-on with Spequlo?
Yes, a result can be shared. Spequlo does not attach a discount to sharing; conversion comes from the try-on and the size recommendation.
Does Spequlo work with Klaviyo like Antla does?
Yes. Spequlo sends try-on and size-recommendation events to Klaviyo so you can build flows on them, for example a size-confident reminder to a shopper who tried on but did not buy.
Do shoppers need to install anything?
No. The try-on runs on the product page. A shopper taps the button, uploads one photo or picks a preset model, and sees the result on the same page. Nothing to download, no account to create.
What happens to shopper photos?
Photos are stored privately, are never used to train AI models, and are deleted on request. Brands can see aggregate analytics, not a shopper's photo library.
Can I try it before switching?
Yes. Try the shopper experience at spequlo.com/try, then book a demo and we will set the widget up on a staging copy of your theme so you can compare results on your own products.
