What goes wrong when shoppers buy dresses online?
Length is the first casualty: a “midi” on a tall model is a maxi on someone else. Then the waist, which on a fitted dress has to sit in one specific place. Then the fabric: satin, jersey and linen all photograph the same on a hanger and behave completely differently on a body. Shoppers order two sizes and return one, or order one and return it.
How does Spequlo show a dress on the shopper?
One photo of the shopper, or a preset model close to their build, and Spequlo generates the dress on that body with the hem, the neckline and the drape rendered for their proportions. It uses the product's images and description, so a cowl neck stays a cowl neck and a bias-cut satin still falls like satin.
Does it recommend a size?
Yes. Two guided photos give Spequlo an estimate of the shopper's measurements; those are matched to your chart for that dress, and the recommendation appears beside the try-on with its reasoning. For fitted styles, that is the difference between a keep and a return.
Does it work for occasionwear and formal dresses?

- Length is rendered for the shopper's own proportions, which is the main reason dress shoppers use it.
- What about prints and patterns?
- Prints are carried over from your product image. Large placements and stripes render reliably; very fine micro-patterns may soften slightly.
- How long does setup take?
- For a Shopify store, an afternoon: install the app, enable the theme block, and the try-on button appears on product pages. Size charts are matched to products automatically. Other platforms use a script tag.
- What happens to shopper photos?
- Photos are stored privately, are never used to train AI models, and are deleted on request. Brands see aggregate analytics, not a shopper's photos.
